Our two directors are Gerald Elliott and James McAdams
Churches that are involved in Session Eight include Southeast (Friendswood), North Woodlands Area (Magnolia), and Eagle Community (Mont Belvieu). Many of our campers come from these churches, but we also are blessed with campers who come with friends or alone from around the state. We have campers from everywhere!
Each year the organizing committee made up of representatives from the different involved churches select a theme. Camping activities and Bible classes are developed around that theme. Each day campers will participate in their Bible class (grouped by age) and two times of intentional worship. There will also be other opportunities for devotion, praise and prayer. Each day there is one hour of organized sports. During the afternoons the campers have free time where they have the option to spend time in crafts, sports, swimming and other games or tournament sports. The camp store (our Canteen) offers campers extra candy, snacks and soft drinks at a minimal price. The camp kitchen provides campers with three great meals each day.
All our staff members at Bandina are volunteers, and each one is also an active member of a congregation of churches of Christ. We only allow qualified adults who have passed all background checks and the required training in accordance with state regulations. We have a nursing station with qualified nursing staff who are trained to care for your campers with first aide and more serious needs. The camp provides emergency medical care for all campers and staff during the week.
Large Camp Bandina Session
Last year, we had 300 campers and 88 volunteer staff members. Each year we reach capacity in our cabins and usually have to turn away campers. We understand that you have a choice as to where to send your children to camp, and we feel truly blessed that you choose our session at Bandina. We always strive to make our session the best we can and feel that you will enjoy it, too!
